on certain special engagements, "TwoGrass" duo Eddie & Martha Adcock
will be joined by Tom Gray.Together, they are one of the most dynamic string trios
you'll ever hear.Eddie and Martha are perhaps the most popular and enduring duo
in bluegrass music today, having joined forces three and a half decades ago to
play their special vibrant brand of music. Martha is known for her evocative vocals
and powerhouse rhythm guitar, while Eddie is lauded as one of the very few truly
original stylists on banjo and guitar in bluegrass music.
Tom Gray is
a critically acclaimed bassist, much in demand, who co-founded the Seldom Scene
group.Eddie and Tom are the surviving half of one of the most innovative and influential
bluegrass groups of all time, the 'Classic' Country Gentlemen of the Washington
DC area. Those iconic Country Gentlemen, which also included Charlie Waller and
John Duffey, were inducted together as a group in the International Bluegrass
Music Association's Hall of Fame in 1996, the only band to be so awarded. They
also were inducted into the Washington Area Music Association's Hall of Fame in
1996.
